Day 100
Break out the party hats - we've hit the triple-digits with no missed days. It's been fun trying to find a piece of new "exciting" "content" to share daily! I've found helpful things along the way as well. Here's to the next 100!

Sometimes the blur feature of Teams doesn't work that well as you've mentioned before. Perhaps a background image would be better? Those seemed to work when I was online at UTA. Here's a whole library of Teams background images to try.
They're not wrong.
Here are ten more taco places in Dallas for y'all to check out. Gonna need some thorough reviews! :)
This is one of my favorite bands who writes music based on historical events and people. Related to chemistry and Halloween, this one describes Fritz Haber, the German scientist who discovered how to mass produce ammonia for fertilizer but who also developed chlorine gas used in WWI/II. Sinner or a saint?
Don't forget to take a break from work/school every now and then. Here's an article that gives some suggestions for how to take different types of breaks.
I hope you have an awesome first session tomorrow! If you want to make some fancy-looking slides for your activities, this is the site where Braylen gets all of her slide templates from (and they always look great).
I'm sure that you would enjoy videos made by the US Chemical Safety Board. They make animations of workplace accidents typically caused by a combination of dangerous chemicals and negligence. Here's a great one about an explosion at a ExxonMobil refinery.
Here's the link to an SI-only Discord server that Roxi, Heather, Jay, and I are in. Flashbot is also there, which is a bot I made that generates session plans for you (which Heather loves). Discord is basically just a fancier GroupMe. We just talk about silly stuff at work and post SI memes in there if that interests you.
“When you recover or discover something that nourishes your soul and brings joy, care enough about yourself to make room for it in your life.”— Jean Shinoda Bolen
Here's a link to 100 self-care ideas to do on Saturdays. I still need to make my self-care post for SI. I don't think spending $60 on a Halloween costume counts :P

If you want to use something besides Google Slides during your virtual sessions, perhaps try out Mural. It's an infinite canvas with awesome features and templates. I can share a free educators' license if you like it, just let me know.
Not a self-care post today, more of an FYI that Fall Fest is this Thursday and I'll be manning the SI table. I'll send a picture or two your way while I sit there :)
"Even to your old age and gray hairs I am he, I am he who will sustain you. I have made you and I will carry you; I will sustain you and I will rescue you." - Isaiah 46:4
Now this is a toy that would be hilarious to have. Bring it to SI sessions and you'd have the entire class there in a heartbeat.
This is a recipe for a *classic* Hawaiian dessert: butter mochi. We just made some yesterday and it's great. You can cut down the sugar a bit if you don't want it to be super sweet.
You're not a true YouTube OG if you don't know The Duck Song.
